手臂服刑（趣味英语）

一个人因盗窃被控，他的律师别出心裁地为他辩护：
“我的当事人只是将手臂伸进窗户，移动了一些无足轻重的东西。他的手臂并非他本人，我不明白你怎能因为他的手臂犯罪而惩罚他整个人。”
“讲得好，”法官说，“按照你的逻辑，我判被告的手臂监禁一年。他爱陪不陪，随他便。”
被告露出笑容。在律师帮助下，他卸下假肢，放在凳子上，走了出去。

The　Right　To　Bare　Arms
A　law y er　defendin g　a　man　accused　of　bur g lar y　tried　this　creative　defense:
“M y　client　merel y　inserted　his　arm　into　the　win－dow　and　removed　a　few　triflin g　articles．　His　arm　is　not　himself,　and　I　fail　to　see　how　y ou　can　p unish　the　whole　individual　for　an　offense　com－mitted　b y　his　limb．”
“Well　p ut,”　the　j ud g e　re p lied．“Usin g　y our　lo gic,I　sentence　the　de－fendant's　arm　to　one　y ear's　im p riso－nment．He　can　ac－com p an y　it　or　not,as　he　chooses．”
The　defendant　smiled．　And,　with　his　law y er's　assista－nce,he　detached　his　artificial　limb,　laid　it　on　the　bench and　walked　out．
